Snow and cold did not discourage a group of District 7780 Rotarians from 8 clubs who came together to load a shipping container full of mobility devices on Saturday February 1, 2025. This container for Crutches4Africa is headed to South Africa and was picked up in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
This District has now collected, loaded, and shipped 14 containers full of both used and new mobility devices to countries in need in Africa and beyond. Crutches, walkers, rollators, canes, braces, medical boots & shoes, knee walkers, wheelchairs, and more. These devices can have a profound impact on the daily lives of people with a variety of conditions, including those with congenital conditions, those who have been injured, the elderly, and polio survivors.
Thanks to all Rotarians, family, and friends who collect items all year long, as well as to those who came to help on Saturday. We also thank so many in our local communities for continuing to support this project by donation of items you no longer need. If you have mobility devices you’d like to donate, please contact OH Rotarian Dave Preble at 207-743-7836 or preb@roadrunner.com. FMI find us on FB.
